MacAppADay is your free source for apps for your mac. Throughout December, each and every day (where possible, we can't be held responsible for developers who go on holiday and then cancel), we’ll give away 5000 copies of a popular mac application. Even if all the apps were only worth $5.00, that’d be $150.00. And some of them are worth a lot more. Oh, and this is not a competition. Everyone gets every single application (up to a maximum of 5000 copies daily). All you have to do is remember to visit the site each day from the 1st December. And there’s a bonus on New Years! We’re not joking.

Next app at Midnight PST 29th

Macility Bundle

The Macility Productivity Bundle packages together our most popular products to enable you to increase your personal productivity on the Macintosh. The bundle is being offered at a substantial discount off the combined prices of the individual products.

The bundle includes:

Tired of searching and remembering keyboard combinations for umlauts and other special characters? Want to get the most out of your fonts? Then PopChar is the right tool for you.

PopChar makes “typing” of unusual characters easy without having to remember keyboard combinations.

Whenever you need a special character, PopChar is there to help. Click the “P” in the menu bar to display a table of characters. Select the desired character and it instantly appears in your document.

PopChar X supports Unicode fonts with thousands of characters available. Just switch from ASCII to Unicode to see all of them, neatly arranged in the standard Unicode categories.

Web designers will especially enjoy the ability to insert HTML symbols.

The current version of PopChar X is 3.1.

Did you know that the average Mac OS X application has 40 to 80 menu shortcuts?

Menu shortcuts are supposed to provide quick access to frequently used menu commands. But honestly: how many shortcuts do you know by heart?

KeyCue helps you to use your Mac OS X applications more effectively by displaying a concise table of all currently available menu shortcuts.

You no longer need to memorize and remember key combinations; just press the command key and KeyCue tells you what you want to know.

Over time, you will automatically remember frequently used shortcuts and start working more efficiently.

Have you ever experienced the tedium and frustration of having to repeatedly type your name, e-mail address, home page url, or other words or phrases again, again and again? Or do you frequently need to quickly insert images like your signature, location plan, or company logo into documents? Do you often introduce errors when retyping standard business text?

Are you looking for an automatic text software that handles such issues for you?

Create text templates easily - use text templates for letters, emails and any repetitive typing!

Typinator is an automatic text software that boosts your productivity and eliminates errors by automating the process of inserting frequently used text and graphics.

The pages aren’t loading and I’m getting a TON of database errors. Still adapting to the new servers?

  6. Thanks very much, MAAD and Arizona Software!

  7. That took awhile to get, but got it! … Actually got this at MyDreamApp, but trashed it; I was thinking just the other day that maybe I shouldn’t have, … and Voila! Thanks MAAD!

Cool app - but these new servers are just a bunch of crap - I never had a problem accessing this site before the switch - now it just either doesn’t display the page correctly or I get Wordpress errors.

  9. I got this at MDA as well so it’s of no use to me. Neither are any of the offers. I’m sure it’s good for some people but I really wish I get some more apps I can use out of this :-(

    Thanks MAAD and Arizona Software.

  11. It took 22 minutes to download, type and submit my above thank-you note. … though you folks at MAAD might like to know just how slow this site is.

Photo Presenter looks great, except that when I launch it, it consistently ‘unexpectedly quits’ :(

Following up on my own message: removing the preferences file in ~/Library/Preferences dit the trick. :)

As with Stefan, I’m having PhotoPresenter quit on me as soon as I try to launch it. Bummer too…but then again, I did get FotoMagico with the MacHeist bundle…but would have liked to try this app out too…ah well. Thanks anyways.

thanks but i already paid for this one, besides it’s an older version

  20. Pages load normally and the application downloads quickly for me (well under a minute). Thanks :)

  21. PhotoPresenter fails to launch in 10.4.7. Its dock icon keeps bouncing, the splash screen stays put and the app hangs. The preference file it creates is “.ch.arizona-software.blist” which is weird since all others prefs end in “.plist”

  22. It loaded fine in 10.4.8

Again, it is an older version and if you click check for updates, it will download an unregistered version… just so you know.

  23. Thanks!!

No problems getting this one here.

What do people think of the Maczot bundle of games at $25? I got Enigmo2 with the MH bundle, but being new to the new Mac, I’m tempted to load up with this new bundle as well …

Thanks MAAD for the coupon for YummieFTP! I am new to the Mac side of life .. and had yet to choose my new ftp program. (Had my fav in the Win world.) Read the reviews around, and Yummie looks to be a great app! And after the coupon (at least today) the app only cost me $10! That’s for an upgradable app! (Uh, at least I think so…. hmm…)

Thanks again MAAD for giving us the good .. cheap!

  26. Jason Downing

    @Rees Maxwell: Yes, it’s upgradable :)

Ummm… I understand you guys are still implementing a 5000 copies limit for each app. If so, you may want to actually secure this URL -> . shadowBurn and MailSteward Lite are still there. I’m sorry if by posting this, that it allows PhotoPresenter downloads to go past 5000, but sloppy work has to be noticed. If I were the developer and I had a deal that 5000 is the max downloads, I certainly wouldn’t appreciate this.

  29. Thanks, Arizona Software and MAAD!
The additional coupon code and recapp offers are good ideas!

  30. I’ve just had a quick play with this and have to say that it seems rather nice.
Thanks MAAD - and thanks Arizona!

  31. @Sanjay Mehta

I’d say its definately worth it - for pangea arcade and p - i just got it (though, i bought nanosaur with the MacHeist Bundle) its my first Zot ever (i almost got Socialist, but changed my mind - i hate the 3 paned interface it uses)

Just paid for the Maczot bundle.

Just for the record, I wouldn’t have done so if it hadn’t been for MacAppADay and MacHeist introducing me to Good Stuff.

Wow! Just bought Yummy FTP - wonderful FTP app. Really fast! Much faster than Transmit or CaptainFTP. thanks for the coupon - without it I wouldn’t be able to buy it…

Already had them, so I’m actually not as bitter about the 4 a.m. Wordpress error as you’d think.

  36. no ip logging. can be downloaded unlimited amount of times?

  37. I just wanted to add my thanks. From MacAppADay I’ve discovered MacHeist (and the fabulous Delicious Library plus the rest), MacZot (loads of games to play over the holidays now - doh.) and countless other shareware developers that I probably wouldn’t have heard of without MacAppADay.

There are tons of programs out there that I didn’t even KNOW I needed!!

Thanks again for all the hard work and bringing the amazing amount of shareware that is out there to my attention.

  38. You guys need to work on your load balancing or something. I couldn’t get in last night so I gave up and went to bed. There are WP plugins to help with this, though I do not know what they’re called.

As it happens, I have PhotoPresenter already from the Your Dream App voting (I think that’s where I got it) so y’all are welcome to it.

I already got PP from MDA too - but it’s a great little app, and I know a lot of people missed out on it before, so again, it’s no big deal to me…

  40. PhotoPresenter : 404 error ???

  41. I’ve been wanting this app. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

@Jason (Yummie Dev) - THANKS! And thanks for being so responsive here! It is like over on the MacZot forums .. often times the devs will be watching and responding… makes me really feel connected to the dev behind my app, which makes me more likely to feel good about the app and talk it up to others.

In case anyone can answer this question about OVERFLOW, thanks in advance!

I downloaded the MAAD version of Overflow back when it was the featured app. There was no registration form (that I saw) and no indication that I needed to follow a procedure to obtain a license number. I installed the program and have been finding it useful. However, today the Overflow window bears the message: “Time left in trial period: 10 days,” and also displays a “Purchase License…” button.

    What happened?

  47. rampancy
    Dec 22nd 2006

@ ariana: Actually, there was. IIRC, you had to submit to Stunt Software your name and email address, and after that they’d email you a license key file which you would input into Overflow.

  48. Jeremy
    Dec 22nd 2006

Rampancy is correct, you needed to email Stunt and they email you back with the license file, I think it was good till 2.1 or something, too late now i’d assume.

  49. Ariana
    Dec 22nd 2006

@ rampancy: Thanks much for the reply. I’m running Firefox with the noscript extension (javascript off), so perhaps I missed it. I’ve had problems a few different times with MAAD’s redirections to the download sites anyway, so it’s hard to tell.

Oh well. Overflow is a nice app, and I’d no doubt renew its license if I were to keep using, but although I appreciate this MAAD promotion and the opportunity to evaluate fully functional shareware (i.e., the way shareware used to be), I do think all the hurdles and glitches so many people have experienced could’ve been easily avoided with better planning, so now the whole thing just leaves me with a kind of annoyed why-bother? attitude.

Thanks again for your reply, though!

Yummy is fantastic, I’m tempted to donate the rest of the full price that’s how good it is :) I hope the developer is doing well so he can keep coming up with more fantastic apps.

I’m just hoping On The Job gets on MAAD!

  53. thsn again MAAD

just wanted to comment..seems like a ‘unique’ program..but under some modes it kinda looks ‘unpolished

like the ‘polaroid’ mode..the lines are not ’straight’ and you can see the pixles and such..

wondering if anyone else is getting this

i’m running a 2.0ghz macbook core duo with 1.25gb ram
